Save the dates for May 9-10, 2026. We will gather to celebrate our 101st year in our building at 425 S. Central Park. We are planning a program on Saturday, May 9 and a special worship service on Sunday, May 10. Former pastor Orlando Redekopp will preach for our worship service on May 10 at 11:00am. Plan to join us for our celebration!Luther King on January 19, 2025. It was a most moving and inspirational service, with participation and leadership from all three congregations.

Mrs. Annie Lorene Crump was born into eternity February 5, 2024. Her family and the church community celebrated her life on Saturday, February 17.

On November 24, 2024 First Church held a Memorial Service for Mrs. Corean Bevly who had died this fall (at age 92). In addition to church members, Congressman Danny Davis offered words of profound tribute.
